hermes spring 2007
October 10, 2006
i am still baffled with all the flowy chiffon dresses matched with leather studded accessories but i come to realize that over analyzing the hermes spring 2007 runway show brings one self to question our own taste level. so, i’d rather not judge it and just take it as it is. designer jean-paul gaultier continues to make this french luxury leather house a bit more young and hip and the end-result is just not quite there yet. i applaud the edgi-ness created with the shoulder birkin, the tiny kelly clutch and the kelly longue but the rest of the new bags are still debatable. what do you think?

I think it’s about time regular-sized bags came back into fashion. I HATE big bags because I HAVE to fill them or they end up looking awful and limp on my shoulder.

the folded kellys are not bad looking. i guess it’s just kind of irreverent to be changing an iconic handbag into a crumpled piece. from sleek and elegant to folded and casual. the house of hermes must be courting the rock and roll crowd. and for what reason? they’ve got a loyal following already. why turn them off?

upsetting actually to see a very expensive bag folded three times over and wrapped up. but hey its all about versatility, right? nevertheless im still loving those collier de chien bangles

those belts around neck look just like my dog’s collar. sigh. but the birken clutches look cute and refreshing.
