a friendly warning
July 29, 2006replica. fake. designer-inspired.
whatever you call it - it is deception, cheating, misrepresentation and just plain illegal.
in the attempts of playing at human emotions - there are websites and shops dedicated in manipulating, swindling and victimizing innocent consumers sucked into misleading promise of the genuine real designer major purchase.
it has been a worldwide issue hurting the fashion industry and most recently, even the pharmaceutical market. currently, i have read a battle against a website who to a naive and gullible browsing client , this website has the ingredients of a reliable merchant. oh, but there’s more to this virtually luxurant online store.
but this cause is so much deeper than just nailing the people behind these active sites selling fake merchandise. this is a huge counterfeit market stemming into a worldwide problem. just a friendly warning, please do not fall in a trap of a steal-of-a-deal purchase and be blinded by the bargain. do not forget that your local retailers are just next door offering you the service and extra mile pampering in achieving your goal of owning a handbag (or whatever it is for that matter).
even socialites are not spared from global warning. be not a true fashion victim here.
It’s true, the guilt that strikes me after buying a fake Louis Vuitton is crippling. And not only do they look cheap, but other people can tell their fakes. Who wants to have the embarassment of saying no to an ‘So is it real?’

bravo. bravo! i despise those who buy fakes. i dont care how “real” they look, but a fake is just a fake. its just tacky. period. i love that article from SMH. cant believe socialites buy fakes. i mean, what were they thinking?!?!

That’s why I HATE using any of my monogram handbags. It saddens me that people will think it’s “fake” since there are so much out there. You can’t just stick a sign on the bag that reads, “Yes, it’s REAL” you know?

“Lady McMahon is part of a growing contingent of affluent consumers purchasing luxury fakes” — wow, that’s embarassing. Why would she resort to sporting a fake when she can clearly afford and get the real thing?
Charisse, I’m sooo over LV monograms not because people will think it’s a fake because the keen eyed ones can usually tell, but because it’s just getting too chav. Eeek! LOL!

Oops! My bad! I still use my monogram wallet and key holder. And the damier isn’t monogram, right?

charisse & shop diary: oh no dont say that! please dont hate monograms!!! i just bought my vuitton monogram cardholder last week! :’( *tears tears* and i own a vuitton monogram Pochette & a minimongram bowling bag. oh and a fendi zucchino baguette too
but i still carry them anyways. well screw those people, i know mine are the real thing! but that does bring to mind a story that my mom’s friend once sported a 4-carat diamond ring on her finger and because she always looks so daggy and all no one believed it was the real thing! you should have looked at her face she was like so so mad she was totally fuming, haha!

i just wonder if that Lady McMahon woman was carrying a real birkin fake (with all the hermes embossing and stamping etc) or just a lookalike? last year InStyle published a photo of stella mccartney sporting a semi-transparent plastic pink birkin lookalike out and about and no one seemed to make a big deal out of it. personally im against all highstreet lookalikes as well because they are clearly ripping the designer off!

No no no I LOVE monograms. I just hesitate to carry them outside the house! I see so many people out there carrying obvious fakes, and I think to myself, “Damn. I just might look like ‘those types’ to other people.” The genuine reason I’ll never buy a fake, or any good quality fake is not because it might support terrorism, but because my pride is as high as the Empire State Building, and carrying a fake and have people laugh behind my back will scar me for life! The horror! Never. Monogram handbags just scream, “Look at me!! Scrutinize me and see if I’m real or fake!” Handbags lacking monograms aren’t spared from this, but still…

i have friends that buy fake goods.. it just makes me feel so bad that they pretend their goods are real and authentic.. i feel that they’re fooling themselves into believing what they have are real.

I didn’t know you can get arrested for carrying fake purses! I thought they would only confiscate it, but not arrested! HAHAHAHA
Comment by charisse — July 30, 2006 @ 6:34 pm
im not too sure actually! i heard a chinese woman was being arrested for carrying a fake vuitton bag. maybe not arrest-arrest, but more like taking her to a room for interogation or something. but it is embarrassing enough!

sophia: i know.. but he’s a dear friend. i’ve told him already that he can get arrested for buying fakes. he even borrows my stuff (he’s gay) so as to pretend my stuff were his. i feel sad for him because he pretends to be someone he’s not.
