October 2, 2005here are october highlights coming up :
* the most-awaited store hopping event with the holiday shopping card starts on october 27 and lasting two weeks with discounted shopping of 20% in participating major houston stores and restaurants. the $60 donation is entirely given to the american cancer society and is fully tax-deductible. now, that’s shopping with a cause!
* the neiman marcus christmas book has arrived! the ultimate guide to the most luxurious and beyond-belief christmas gift giving catalog should be in your mailbox anytime soon! ben has non-stop drooled over the lexus gs hybrid limited edition. as far as i’m concerned, he can drool all he want. it won’t be ready for delivery till spring of 2006 anyway!
* lance armstrong will cycle his way by md anderson cancer center and the rest of the texas medical center area on monday, october 3, with the tour of hope team. the mayor of houston, bill white, will join him in a survivors rally and everyone is encouraged to wear jeans and yellow t-shirts to show support and hope for the cancer victims!
* for the third and final time this year, the gem and jewelry show will hold it’s three day shopping show here in houston. extensive choices of diamonds and pearls, vintage baubles, beads, silver and gold wares, rare gems and stones, will be showcased to visitors and customers. it would be the last time to search on rows and rows of packed glistening aisles for the most perfect christmas gifts for friends and loved ones at a much discounted price!
it is also the month of kicking off professional baseball (go astros!) play-offs, exciting ongoing football (go texans!) season and countless parties as more holiday gatherings are brewing in the sidelines!
hi paz! i was drooling over a lot of stuff in that neiman marcus christmas book, particularly the red wrap-style top on page 10 and that black Diane Von Furstenberg dress on page 11! Ang gaganda. That gem and jewelry show sounds interesting, too.
oh, and speaking of sport season kickoffs, marc has been glued to the tv lately for sunday and monday night football! he’s turned me on to baseball and football and so by default, i am now a padres and chargers fan. hahaha..

I’d like to add that in case you’re eating out on Wednesday, Oct. 5 is Dine For America. There’s sure to be a participating restaurant in your town.
